What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy focuses on mental health, emotional healing, and addressing distress or ongoing relational challenges. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented, designed to help you gain clarity, set goals, and create meaningful change.
Coaching is a great fit if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating a life transition but are emotionally stable and ready to move forward. Therapy may be more appropriate if you’re experiencing significant emotional distress or mental health symptoms. If you’re unsure, we can explore this together during a consultation.
What if I’m not sure what I want yet?
That’s very common especially during relationship strain or major life transitions. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Therapy and coaching both provide a supportive space to explore uncertainty and move toward clarity at your own pace.
Why shouldn’t I just take medication?
Medication can be effective but it alone cannot solve all issues. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with therapy. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals.
How long do therapy or coaching typically last?
The length of therapy or coaching varies based on your goals and needs. Some clients benefit from short-term, focused work, while others choose ongoing support during longer transitions. We regularly reassess progress to ensure the work remains aligned with your goals.
How often are sessions scheduled?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As progress is made, sessions may transition to biweekly or as-needed, depending on your needs and preferences.
